Banana Republic Factory

Back to school… I gotta be honest, I have a love/hate relationship with those three words. While I can’t wait to get into my new classroom (I moved btw!) and meet my sweet 4th graders, I am not thrilled about giving up my late mornings and free schedule. If there’s one thing that gives me a little thrill about the season, it’s back to school shopping. I’m sure all of you teachers can agree. What’s not to love about a new fall wardrobe and a cart full of colorful supplies?

This August, I did my B2S haul at Banana Republic Factory because of their fabulous educator discount. Hello 20% off! First of all, BR Factory has all the deals. I love shopping there because I truly feel that the aesthetic is up to par with retail Banana, yet the prices are much more teacher friendly. Add to that to the educator discount, and BAM! I’m walking out of the Factory feeling fabulous. If you are located in Northern California there are locations in Folsom, Vacaville, and Napa Outlet malls.

One thing I love about Banana Republic is that it’s a store where I can shop for all occasions. Their classic fits and styles make me feel sophisticated yet on trend, no matter where I’m headed. Here are some of the items from my recent haul and how I plan to style them for the W’s… work, weekend, wedding, wherever! 😉

Top: Chambray Boyfriend Shirt– love this top. I plan to wear this as a weekly staple with any color pant.

Pant: Sloan Slim Fit Ankle Pant– Factory has the same ones as regular Banana in store but for a fraction of the price. Unfortunately, they are sold out online. Check in stores.

Shoe: Target dupes or Steve Madden– Let’s be real, I’m not wearing these in the classroom… and obvi I got them from Target.

Top: Poplin Boyfriend Shirt– This is such a classy look that I adore and could totally see myself wearing out to dinner in SF. Hair up and buttoned slightly down makes it a little sexy and totally date night appropriate.

Pant: Skinny Jean

Shoe: Peep Toe Sandal

Dress: Midi Dress

Top: Classic Poplin Shirt – What teacher doesn’t love polka dot? So many other cute prints available.

Skirt: I fell absolutely in love with this jean skirt. I debated for about 3 seconds if it was too 1996, but clearly thought otherwise. It was in the clearance section so unfortunately wasn’t available online. But lucky for me, with discount and everything it ended up costing  $7. Here’s a similar one from Gap Factory.

Discount Info

From now until August 31st, teachers will receive a 20% off discount on everything except clearance when presenting teacher ID or pay stub. Take advantage this B2S season. Year round, Banana Republic and Banana Republic Factory offer 10-15% off for teachers, students, and military families. Speak with sales associates for further details.

Hi everybody! Hope you are enjoying beautiful sunny weather wherever you are! For teachers, congrats on being finished with school! I’m so excited for the time off over the next two months and very much looking forward to sharing some fun summer style with you all!

My boyfriend Chris and I are in LA for the week and loving the 80 degree temps! I’ll be posting over the next few days my LalaLand outfits. Here was last night’s.

This romper is currently on sale for $40.80, score!! Shoes are also on sale, but in limited sizes.

NEA $1000 Makeover Sweepstakes!

This post was sponsored by NEA Member Benefits, but all opinions are my own.

Teaching friends,  I’m sure that majority of you reading are familiar with or likely a member of NEA, National Educators Association. What you may not know is that May is NEA Member Appreciation Month, yay! In celebration of hard working educators, NEA Member Benefits is offering members special discounts, gifts, work wear tips, and a chance to win a $1,000 fashion makeover.

What is that you say?! $1,000 for work clothes? Where do I sign up?

Right here! 😉 One lucky member will receive $1,000 in Visa GiftCard to spend towards their style makeover, and 25 others will receive $100. How cool! Members are able to enter the sweepstakes once a day until May 31. If you’re trying to remember if you are an NEA member or not, you likely are. Local and state education associations are linked to NEA. Creating an NEA Member Benefits log in takes one minute, so be sure to sign up/log in to register.

NEAMB also gave three teachers a style makeover with the help of a fashion expert. With some simple tips, these educators were able to boost their confidence and transform their work wear. Seriously, a few staple items can really make a huge difference! Check out the three style makeovers and see how these teachers incorporated style tips to rock the classroom runway, and how you can too!

One of the tips style expert, Rosanna Vollmerhausen recommended was incorporating patterns into your outfit. She advised blending patterns with contrasting neutrals to add interest to your look without being overwhelming. Some classic prints that I often wear are camo, floral, and of course, stripes! Here’s how I incorporated Rosanna’s tip into my #ootd today.

Summer Count Down

Hello all! I can’t believe it, but my school has only 17 days left in our year. Eeeek! I am most looking forward to blogging (or at least attempting to) this summer. I have some major life changes happening, and I can’t wait to share with you soon!

Here’s a fun outfit from today. Our weather today was unreal! I found this adorable Lucky Jean vest from TJ Maxx this weekend, and I apologize in advance if you see it in every post for the rest of the week. The exact vest wasn’t available online, but here’s a similar one from Madewell. Also, I recently picked up these shoes from Nordstrom and they are comfy enough to teach in and wear on a Monday (I have PE and we get out at 1:20 on Monday’s ;)!)

Also, with break just 17 school days away, I thought I’d share some of my favorite summer shoes with you! Some I own and you may have seen in Insta posts, others are on my wish list!

I’ve decided blush pink will be my color for spring. These pants are going to be a key staple for me in the coming months, and I found them at Target for $30! Unfortunately, when I originally posted they weren’t linked online and the only similar pair I could find were $150+ Paige from Nordstrom. I’m sure they’re fab, but that’s not happening with my teacher budget. Shop the post below, and thank you Target for your glorious prices.

Earrings are from SoCal Gems. The pair I’m wearing (Winter Wonderland) are currently sold out, but the ones below are very similar. Use code teacherlookbook for 10% off your entire jewelry purchase.

All Black Everything

Today at school we celebrated the 50th birthday of one of my favorite staff members! She always wears black, so we had a staff black out. We also jokingly said we were mourning her youth. I’m lucky to work with a staff I can laugh with. Happy Birthday Rebecca!

Shop the post below. The only piece missing is this black geometric tote from Zara. I’m obsessed with it and have been using it as my school bag for weeks. It has an inner liner for a laptop. Only downside, there are no other pockets for keys, chapstick, pens, nine hundred million little things  in your teacher bag! I bought a little pencil pouch to stick in there and it’s worked out fine. Bag is $40, score!

Also, if you’re looking for comfortable and professional pants, these are it! They are pricier than most of my other work bottoms, but totally worth every penny. I also like them because I can wear them as full length pants, or fold up on the seam line to make them cropped. I have a weird thing about liking my ankles to show in my pants. Don’t ask.

Wild Blue Denim

Obsessing over this pair of Wild Blue denim pants. They are so incredibly comfortable, I could do cartwheels all day in these. Just FYI, I’m usually a size 26 and ordered a 0 and they fit perfectly. They are stretchy, so I recommend ordering a size down.

This top is super cute too. The other day I wore it unbuttoned with a long striped t-shirt underneath. I loved the look from behind with the chambray’s open back. So many ways to style this top. I’m going to Miami for Spring Break (hooray!) and plan to pair this top with a body con dress, I just got from Forever for $10. It’s flirty, but with the addition of the denim top, a little bit more conservative. Hope you guys enjoy!
